Taught ‘Methods in Plant Pathology & Post-harvest Technology’. The training contained theory and practical classes of–

  • Acquaintance with plant pathology laboratory and equipment — Use of microscope — Culture media preparation — Isolation of fungal and bacterial pathogens — Plant disease diagnostic techniques – the study of symptoms, signs, syndrome, infectious and non-infectious diseases — Preservation of disease samples – dry and wet methods — Demonstration of Koch’s postulates for fungi and bacteria — Management strategy of plant diseases — Bio-control of plant pathogens — Basic molecular techniques used in plant pathology laboratory (extraction of DNA, PCR, purification and sequencing, etc.)
